The soup incident is definitely something to keep in mind the next time I get a bit too self conscious.
Something I only learned after I posted this is that "schlimazel" is the Yiddish word for the kind of guy who gets soup spilled on him
A Schlemiel is the one who spills the soup.
A synonym? A schmuck!
